This rescheduled ride from June will be a fun two-day ride going counterclockwise down through Elbe, and close to, but not on I5, and then along the Columbia on Historic Hwy 30.
We'll visit the Vista House (get our picture there for the HOG yearly challenge coin), Multnomah Falls (among others), and one of our five VISTA's of the year - the Rowena Crest Viewpoint!
The hotel location has changed!! Staying in The Dalles @ The Cousin's Country Inn Sunday night (one night only). Nice hotel and restaurant next to it. I booked it on Expedia and it has a day before cancellation! Another inexpensive option if that is not available is just down the road in town called The Dalles Inn.
On day two we head inland and up to Bickleton before heading home via Yakima Canyon and I-90 - possibly adding another one or two side roads.
More info to come on this but if interested, you'll need to buy a pass for the historic Hwy 30:
The Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area requires Timed Use Permits. Waterfall Corridor Timed Use Permits will be available online at www.recreation.gov for a $2 transaction fee. The tickets for Sunday, July 10th will be released on June 26th at the recreation.gov website. Oddly enough they are selling them by the hour timeslot.. Select the 3-4 pm time slot.
Updates and more info to come on this. Feel free to ask questions - my cell is 425-269-7577.
We'll meet at the dealer at 8:45 AM (gas tanks full and bladders empty) with kickstands up around 9:00AM.
